"HELLO, NICE TO MEET YOU"
Ché-Lee Parker is the leader and founder of numerous initiatives and organisations. Her mission is to support biodiversity, plant protection and sustainability. And, she is an inspiration for people to live more sustainably and consciously and how to experience nature with all their senses.
LEARNING FROM NATURE
"LOOK DEEP INTO NATURE AND THEN YOU WILL UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING BETTER."
It is the best way to put it, says Ché-Lee, who never tires of encouraging people to experience nature - with all their senses.
A LIFE WITH AND IN NATURE
The molecular biology graduate has launched two of South Africa's most successful companies in the field of plant extraction, developing beneficial products from indigenous plants and offering them on the international market.
The 29-year-old is also a director of the Indlovu Aerial Trust, a registered South African non-profit organisation that focuses on conservation, eco-commerce projects and eco-friendly living.
That's not all! She is also a so-called Honorary Ranger and is working to have certain parts of the Drakensberg formally protected and designated as a nature reserve.
Ché-Lee is also helping to build a community that she hopes will set an example of how people can live in harmony with nature. And privately, she is also making a contribution to our nature. She supports "1% for the Planet" - a worldwide movement whose members donate at least one percent of their annual turnover to environmental causes.
COMMITMENT TO NATURE
Impressive what Ché-Lee has already achieved and accomplished with her commitment to nature! What's more, every time you talk to her, it's clear that she's a big fan of nature - just like us! She believes that the environment is inside us, a part of us. After all, we derive our life from nature and thus have a connection to it from the very beginning.
Ideally, we humans could live with nature and treat it with respect, she says. The way you treat nature affects you. Since we live from nature, we cannot exist without it.
WE ALL CAN DO SOMETHING FOR NATURE
Ché-Lee motivates everyone to discover their own individual role in an authentic way and to live more environmentally conscious in order to make their own contribution. What is the best way to preserve the environment and protect nature? By protecting biodiversity. "Biodiversity is not only a particularly important topic for her, but also for us. Because we are not only inhabitants of this earth, but also co-creators of what exists!
Here are smart tips from Ché-Lee on how to integrate ecological sustainability into everyday life:
- Shop at local farms that work without pesticides and herbicides.
- Start a small garden and grow your own vegetables.
- Too little space? How about a vertical garden on the balcony.
- Build an insect hotel and put it up.
